TDI Cavern Diver




As the first in a series of overhead courses, the TDI Cavern Course takes a serious look at the skills needed to conduct safe and enjoyable cavern dives. Although the cavern course is conducted in the light zone you will still be in an overhead environment.


This course is designed to develop the minimum skills and knowledge for cavern and overhead environment diving within the limits of light penetration; in addition outlines specific hazards associated with cave diving. The Cavern Diver Course in not intended to provide instruction for cave diving environments. The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper planning, procedures, techniques and hazards of cavern diving. It is a recreational cave diving course using single cylinder. Double cylinders are not to be used unless the student is planning to enrol in the Intro Cave Diver or Full Cave Diver training program. 

During this course you will cover topics and skills such as:

  • Equipment configuration and preparation
  • Body posture and trim
  • Propulsion techniques
  • Cavern conservation
  • Proper guideline procedures


This course requires a minimum time duration of 3 days.

What do I need to start?

  • Be an Advanced Diver (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 25 logged dives
  • Minimum age 18 years or 15 with parental approval
  • Obtain a valid diving medical statement signed by a physician. (If you do not have one you can easily get one done at our dive centre)

The TDI Cavern and Cave manual will outline the procedures for conducting cavern dives and a great addition to your diving library.

Note that all costs related to this activity are mentioned in the above table -  there are no hidden charges.

In the case of boat dives a supplement charge will be added to cover for the cost of the boat. This charge varies between 15 and 25euros p/dive according to the location however you can confirm the price of the boat a few days before the trip as to have a more accurate quote.
